Free Inquiry Introduction

For my free inquiry project, I have decided to learn how to paint with watercolour. I decided to do this because I like watercolour, but I have never explored more than one or two classes in art class.  My plan for my project is to research one of my guiding questions each week. Once I get through the basic research, I will start to incorporate the things I have learned into my watercolour painting and recreate some pieces I like. Some of the questions I want to research are: 

1. What are some of the most popular water colour techniques? How do these techniques differ in Canada vs. Other parts of the world? 

2. Who are some prominent watercolour artists? What techniques or styles do they typically use?  

3. How are water colour paints made?  

4. How does using different types of paper affect your final project? 

5. How does using a watercolour pallet vs. Tubes of water colour affect your final product? 

6. What is the history of watercolour in Canada as well as in other parts of the world? 

I am sure that as I continue through this project, I will produce more questions, or these questions may change. I am happy for my plan to change as I find where my interests lie in watercolour.
